Melbourne’s Attica Officially Named In World’s 50 Best Restaurants

Congratulations to chef Ben Shewry and the team at Melbourne’s Attica, which has been ranked as the number 32 best restaurant in the world for the second consecutive year, and the best restaurant in Australasia.

The announcement was made overnight in London, with the World’s 50 Best Restaurants jury praising Attica for delivering “captivating cuisine in an unlikely suburban setting.”
Shewry says he is “royally humbled” to again be in the company of Spain’s El Celler de Can Roca and Italy’s Osteria Francescana, which took out the number one and two spots. 

This week’s announcement makes it official that there are four Australian restaurants in the world’s Top 100.
Last week, prior to the ceremony, it was revealed that Sydey restaurants Quay and Sepia took out the number 58 and 84 spots, while Brae, in Birregurra, Victoria, took out the number 87.
