Meet Our Guest Travel Editor On The Eve Of Her South American Holiday

Having traversed the streets of Prague and scaled the walls of Berlin, been kindly asked to leave the clubs of Paristhe restaurants of Asia and skateparks Australia wide, it gives us great (albeit vicarious) pleasure to embark on the next leg of our Contiki Insiders Project by introducing our guest travel editor on the eve of her whirlwind tour of South America, Carine Bunsci

Carine – who describes herself as an avid hunter and collector with a long held affinity for music and fashion – boasts a CV as diverse as her upcoming travel itinerary, having worked on fashion magazines, for advertising campaigns, on TVCs and feature films and in animation production for everyone from Walt Disney Studios to Passion Pictures in London.

With an evident passion for travel, international music festival photography, street art, vintage skateboard decks, psychedelic cartoon kitsch, and the ancient art of the dance-off culminating in her passion project Delinquent Valley, we’re confident there’s nobody better placed to show you a different side to South America than the one you’ll see through Carine’s well-trained lens.
First stop, a quick ‘getting to know you’ session:

What’s been your favourite travel destination so far?

Cuba (pictured below).

What’s the craziest thing you’ve done while travelling?

Dolphin acrobatics.

What are you most excited about for your trip?

I’ve never been to South America before, so I’m thrilled to be experiencing a new destination and a jam-packed itinerary.

What is one thing you really want to do (from the itinerary)?

Hmm… that’s a hard one to narrow down, however, I’m intrigued by and look forward to exploring the favelas and partying with the locals in the music-filled metropolises. But my must-see must-do is a trip to Iguassu Falls, I heard it’s mind-blowing!

Why did you want to become a Contiki Insider?

For the adventure packed challenge, of course. It’s a great introduction to the South American experience. A travel enthusiast at heart, I really look forward to the journey, making new friends over a cachaça and a chance to tell my story…
