Y’all Crashed EB Games’ Website WIth Nostalgic Thirst For The NES Classic

Call it nostalgia, but there’s something super dope about the classic console games. Unlike modern games, that largely require you to play about 6000 hours a week for three months straight before you get to the fun parts, they were designed so you could just casually jump in and meticulously reproduce a series of impossible instructions you’d memorised to defeat the Vampire King or whatever.

While there are emulators out there for pretty much every console, it’s awkward as hell to try and fit the controls to keyboard or one of those generic console controllers – nothing beats playing NES games with an actual NES controller.
As an answer to that highly specific problem, Nintendo saw fit to released the NES Classic (which is basically just a NES box with an emulator running 30 games with HDMI output), and the punters are bloody loving it.
They’re loving it so much, in fact, that they managed to break EB Games. Apparently so many people tried to pre-order one they took EB Games’ website offline.
In typical gamer fashion they dealt with it patiently and reasonably:

Apparently EB didn’t anticipate that over 30,000 hungry nerds would be jumping on today, and have increased their server capacity accordingly.
The consoles should be back up for pre-order tomorrow and, providing they don’t fuck it up again, you should be able to get your grubby mitts on one.
