In 2016, gaming is all about getting the player involved in the action on an immersive level of mind-fuckery. Virtual reality and augmented reality are the obvious picks, with commercial VR becoming a recent reality and Pokemon GO leading the way in augmented reality gaming among other endeavours such as Taiwanese stampedes and griefing the entire Sydney suburb of Rhodes.
But beyond the obvious developments, every now and then something comes along that flips the bird to any train of common thought in the industry. For example, this game of Pong played entirely on a rock climbing wall.
