If there’s one thing I’ve learned from years of watching movies, it’s that the soundtrack can completely change the tone of the visuals.
For example, overlaying anything with the Benny Hill Show theme song is instantly hilarious.
The announcement of one of Nintendo‘s latest flagship games, Super Mario Odyssey, was certainly what you’d call… Interesting. The game will feature Mario in the real world and as a result, dropped the bombshell that he himself is not actually a human.
It’s led to a number of hilarious internet reactions, but the best has to be the in-game footage of Odyssey overlaid with the narration from Martin Scorsese‘s classic film, Taxi Driver.

As you’d expect, the whole thing becomes pretty grim with the addition of Robert De Niro‘s ramblings, kinda like Mario meets Max Payne.
I would actually play this game.
