There’s A Free PC Remake Of ‘GoldenEye’ In Case Your N64 Is On The Fritz

If, like so many of us, you harbour fond memories of playing GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64, a long-awaited fan project might be the perfect nostalgic kick.

Named GoldenEye: Source, it’s a multiplayer only remake of the popular console first-person shooter, which was played by basically every single human being born between 1980 and 1994. Its splitscreen multiplayer mode was always its strongest trait, and that’s what’s replicated here. But you can never replicate the adrenaline rush of destroying your brother on the Facility map with a properly timed mine.
Check out the vid:
It’s a free download, and features 25 recreated maps, 10 different multiplayer modes, and the original game’s 28 weapons.
Go forth. Go forth and shoot someone in the head 20 times with a pistol and have them miraculously not die for some reason, because this was the 90s and they hadn’t worked out realistic damage physics yet.
