I offer my deepest condolences to you if you thought that Taylor Swift‘s new social media platform/app The Swift Life was going to be a pleasant experience where fans could share their love of Tay’s music in a pleasant online environment. Turns out the app has been overrun with Trump supporters.
Only a few days after The Swift Life launched, the app has become something of a cesspool. Rather than debating whether ‘Look What You Made Me Do‘ is a 10/10 song or an 11/10 song, the Swifties are talking about… Donald Trump.

As one post reads:
Republicans and Trump supporters have just as much a right to be here as everyone. There are people who voted for him or may vote Republican but didn’t vote for him. They may not agree with his beliefs but at least he supports our troops. Sorry, but everyone has a right to vote for whoever they want.
Non-Trump supporting Swift fans also volleyed back. “Everyone who voted for and supported Hillary meets Taylor. 1 like = 1 prayer,” read one post.

A quick scroll through The Swift Life – which I signed up to – shows that things have quelled somewhat since screenshots were posted all over social media, but I still stumbled across a few weirdly political posts. Weirdly political for a platform designed around collecting something called ‘Taymoji’ and posting about how much you love Taylor Swift, that is.
Despite the fact it seems more than possible to enjoy the app without runnSwift fans aren’t keen on it:
I don’t get how you can’t swear on The Swift Life but can openly support Trump and have white supremacist bullshit on it???? Lmfao okay then.

This is just further proof that any social media platform, regardless of what it is, will become a demented cesspool within 20 seconds of existing. That is what the internet is now, in 2017.
