Streaming giant Netflix has co-created its very own strains of weed based on a number of their most popular original shows. Now that’s Netflix and chill, AMIRITE?
Dubbed The Netflix Collection, the themed weed is being sold as part of an event at Alternative Herbal Health Services in West Hollywood from August 25 to 27. For obvious reasons, they won’t be selling that shit on the internet, so the only place you can get it is at the pop-up.
You’ll also need a medical marijuana card to get high on Netflix’s supply, which they won’t be profiting from.
“Each strain was cultivated with the specific shows in mind, designed to complement each title based on their tone,” they wrote in a press release. “For example, sillier shows may be more indica dominant, while dramedies will be more sativa dominant to help the more powerful scenes resonate.”
Each strain is given a name based on the series it was made for and is actually meant to compliment the viewing of it. For example, Poussey Riot was created for Orange is the New Black and is meant for “kicking it with somebody, talking, making mad stupid jokes”.
The strain for Arrested Development – Banana Stand Kush – is best smoked in a “big yellow joint” and Peyotea 73 is an “uplifting sativa hybrid” for their show Grace and Frankie. There’s also weed for Bojack Horseman, Lady Dynamite and Santa Clarita Diet, which will apparently “really ramp up your appetite”. How fitting.
Disjointed, the new show by The Big Bang Theory‘s Chuck Lorre, has three strains based on it, which makes sense given it’s about the owner of a pot dispensary.
It’s an interesting marketing play from the streaming company, but it certainly makes sense when you think about how many people around the world are ripping bongs during their Netflix sessions.
