Game Inspired By Logan Paul’s Suicide Forest Video Removed From Xbox Store

An offensive game inspired by Logan Paul‘s suicide forest YouTube video has been removed from the Xbox Live Creators Collection program after Microsoft received a number of complaints about the content.

The Suicide Forest tasks players with exploring Japan‘s Aokigahara Forest – sadly, a popular location for people to take their own lives – to find and film dead bodies in order to get YouTube subscriptions and video views. Paul was recently called out for his inappropriate video in which he filmed the the body of someone who had recently committed suicide in the area.

“This content violates our Store policies and we’re in the process of removing it,” a Microsoft representative told Polygon. “Users can report inappropriate content on the game product page or by sending a report directly to reportapp@microsoft.com.”

The company’s Xbox Store policies note that “app and associated metadata must not contain potentially sensitive or offensive content,” and that “content may be considered sensitive or offensive in certain countries/regions because of local laws or cultural norms.”

Bear Parker, the global community manager for TT Games (who developed a number of LEGO video games), also caught wind of the horrible game, tweeting it out with a number of screenshots.

Xbox’s own community manager, Larry Hryb, responded to the tweet letting him know the team was looking into it.

It’s not the first time someone’s tried to cash in on Paul’s offensive video, with a similar game called Logan Paul: Suicide Forest Run showing up on the Google Play Store earlier in the week. Of course, Google removed it as fast as they could.

The game’s creator, Simo Mediator, told the Daily Dot the intention was only to “get views” and that the idea was to make a “sort of meme game”.
