Instagram Is Finally Letting You Upload Selfies / Memes Via Its Website

Instagram users, we have some most excellent news for you. No longer will you be bound to the confines of the mobile app to upload photos, you’ll be able to do it via their mobile website.

The company are currently rolling out the new feature, but not without limitations. You won’t be able to upload videos, add filters, add to your Story or send DMs.
In terms of editing, you’ll only be able to toggle between the square or wide view, and rotate the image. There’s also a watered down version of the Explore page if that kinda thing tickles your fancy.
Instagram have allegedly been testing the functionality since March. Until now, the mobile site merely allowed for sussing your feed and notifications. The new site will only work on your phone or tablet for now, as there appears to be no plans for a redesign of the desktop site.
So how will you know if you can get all up in the new website? Well, the redesign looks a helluva lot like the actual app, so that’s the dead giveaway right there.
The company told Tech Crunch that the new functionality is “designed to help people have a fuller experience on Instagram no matter what device or network they are on.”

They also recently announced an offline more for Android users, furthering their attempt to make the picture sharing platform more accessible to all users.
If my phone is anything to go by, you should be able to access the new site right now. Enjoy.
