If you have an appreciation for absolutely twisted pieces of art, regardless of their form, allow me to introduce you to Hylics 2.

Created by artist, Mason Lindroth, Hylics 2 is, of course, the follow up to Hylics, which is described on Steam as a “recreational program with light JRPG elements”. Lindroth’s first game was released back in 2015 and received excellent reviews. In fact, it has a 100 per cent positive review rate as of the last 30 days and 97 per cent over its release life.
The latest trailer for Hylics 2 was released by old mate yesterday and it looks like a total trip. It honestly seems like this is going to be the closest you’ll get to having complete control over a dream without falling asleep. Check out the trailer below.
Weird, no? I particularly like how it changes perspective often, moving from side-scroller to isometric explorer to third-person spaceship flying. The hand gestures during combat are also pretty wild.
An earlier trailer for Hylics 2 was released all the way back in January of this year but features similar scenes of absolute LSD-driven craziness. You can see that one below.
