Cop A Brief Glimpse Of The Upcoming ‘Black Ops 4’ Battle Royale Mode

A trailer for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta dropped earlier today, and among the multiplayer mayhem the video shows off, we finally get a brief glimpse into the shooter’s upcoming battle royale mode, Blackout.

The clip reveals a bunch of information about what will be included in the beta, which is scheduled to start on August 3 for PS4 owners before opening up to PC and Xbox One on August 10. There’ll be six multiplayer maps, six different modes, and ten playable specialists, all with their own unique abilities.

But the real action happens towards the end of the trailer, just after the October 12 release date is shown. A larger map comes into view featuring a helicopter closing in on some folks riding quad bikes. A sniper takes a gnarly shot at one of the bloke’s in the chopper before the view switches to the vehicle’s gunner raining hell down onto the ground. It’s not much, but it at least confirms a pretty decent scale in terms of the map.

According to the trailer, a Blackout beta will run in September. Check out the clip for yourself below.

You can also see little snippets of players skydiving, exploring some underground water business, and fanging around in a motorised raft. By the looks of it, everything’s shaping up to be pretty sweet. We’ll have to wait until September to see if Activision actually manage to pull off a successful battle royale mode, though.

If you don’t plan on getting all up in the beta, you can pick up Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on October 12 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
