Zuckerburg Rival Cameron Winklevoss Claims Bitcoin Value Could Soar To $US 40,000 Per Coin

Armie Hammer stunt double and one half of the legendary olympic-rowing/entrepreneurial twins, Cameron Winklevoss, most well-known for his film-worthy and complex intellectual property lawsuit against Mark Zuckerberg during the early days of Facebook, has taken part in a Reddit AMA to discuss the topical currency Bitcoin.

A longtime investor and Bitcoin enthusiast, Winklevoss answered questions on the volatile currency and its future. On how he plays his own investement, Cameron Winklevoss admitted that “I am yet to sell a single bitcoin,” and confessed that the recent fluctuation of the virtual currency on the market mattered little: “Some days I don’t even look at the price. I’m in this for the long-haul. Spartans hold.”

Most surprisingly, Cameron Winklevoss provided a gamey prediction for where the currency may be heading in the future, “Small bull case scenario for Bitcoin is a 400 billion USD dollar market cap, so 40,000 USD a coin, but I believe it could be much larger. When this will happen, if it happens, I don’t know, but if it happens, it will probably happen much faster than anyone imagines,” said Winklevoss, a particularly astonishing prediction considering that the price of one Bitcoin has recently been floating around the $1000 US mark.

Aside from confessing that his favourite computer game is Age of Empires (*upvotes*), and that his fondest Bitcoin purchase involved “Sriracha bacon lollipops”, Cameron Winklevoss also spoke of the flaws in the ‘doomsday’ press around Bitcoins’ value after the closure of the popular dark web marketplace, The Silk Road. “The Silk Road closure, and resulting price gains demonstrate how the demand for BTC has little to do with illicit transactions. If anything, Silk Road was holding Bitcoin back by disproportionately dominating its narrative in a negative way.”

Winklevoss also considers that Bitcoin, currently in its early stages, will age well: “Precedent indicates that BTC will feel and act as mature as USD and gold in 10 years,” while also answering a Justin Timberlake-inspired question of “You know what’s cool?” with, “A single bitcoin.”

Whether Cameron Winklevoss truly is the upper echelon of Bitcoin knolwedge and advice is debatable; however The Social Network tells me that this dude knows what’s up. Time to invest.
