Victoria's Secret

A little more than a week on from its annual runway show, iconic lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret has announced that it will open its first ever full-scale Australian store on November 29, at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne.

The brand has operated a number of pop-up boutiques in Australia, carrying fragrances, briefs, accessories and other similar bits of gear, but this will be the first US-style location.

The store will carry a full assortment of lingerie collections, including Very Sexy, Dream Angels, Body by Victoria and Bombshell, as well as the Victoria Sport line of athletic wear,  scents, body care products and the PINK line, which is aimed at younger women.

To sweeten the deal a little bit, Victoria’s Secret has announced that it will be giving away a little somethin’ somethin’ to customers on opening day. The first 50 people in line will receive an Angel Kit to the value of $180, will the next 200 will receive one valued at $110.

The 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show featured performances from Rita Ora and Shawn Mendes, with the likes of Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall JennerCandice Swanepoel, Stella Maxwell and Adriana Lima, in her last show, walking the runway.

The show also featured five Aussie models – Shanina Shaik, Kelly Gale, Duckie Thot, Alannah Walton and Subah Koj. It’s unknown at this stage if any Angels will be attending the opening of the Chadstone store, but I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

The long-established brand found itself facing controversy in the lead-up to this year’s show, when top executive Ed Razek commented that he would not want to include trans people in the big event. He has since apologised for his “insensitive” remarks, and said that the brand welcomes trans models at its castings.
