Trump Doubles Down On Baldwin’s “Very Mean And Nasty” ‘SNL’ Impersonation

Saturday Night Live may have bid farewell to the pitch-perfect impressions of Jay Pharoah, but they definitely replaced him with another spot-on imitator. Well, we’ve only really seen Alec Baldwin impersonate Donald Trump, but he does a pretty stellar job of it.

Regardless, Donald Trump has doubled-down on his take that Baldwin’s impression is rubbish. During an interview on Extra, the Republican presidential nominee said Baldwin’s Trump was simply too much of an arsehole compared to the real deal:

“I think I’m a much nicer guy than he’s portraying. He’s portraying somebody who’s very mean and nasty and I’m not mean and nasty.

I think I’m a much nicer person than he’s portraying, and so I think it’s an inaccurate portrayal of me.”
That statement comes after Trump turned to Twitter to inform many of his hate-filled, egg-avatared followers that the storied sketch show was blowing it with their reliance on Baldwin.

The problem there is that, on an objective level, SNL’s Trump isn’t really too much more vitriolic than his real-world counterpart. Only today, footage of Trump being an unrepentant gobshite to Jennifer Hawkins in 2011 resurfaced. In fact, compared to the neurotic, thinly-veiled insanity of Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton, Baldwin’s Trump is almost less ridiculous.

Trump – the real one – also spoke about the show’s apparent insistence that he return. “They want me to go back,” Trump said.

“No, I’m not interested in going back. Look, I can speak my mind.

I think they’re making me out to be a very mean, bad kind of a guy and that’s not me.”
We’re probably in for another doozy from SNL, and the latest addition to Clinton’s endless email scandal will probably make an appearance. Still, if a blonde-wigged Baldwin shows his oranged face once more, expect more oblivious rants from the Republican nominee.
