Salim Mehajer Arrested After Alleged Punch-On With Cabbie At Star Casino

It’s been a while since we heard any rumblings from Salim Mehajer, but the controversial Sydney businessman has landed himself in the headlines again, following an alleged punch-on with a cab driver outside The Star casino.
Per reports in The Daily Telegraph, the former Auburn deputy mayor was arrested in the area of William and Bourke Street in Darlinghurst in the early hours of this morning, after a dispute that allegedly involved an EFTPOS machine.
NSW police have simply said that “a 30-year-old man is assisting with inquiries after the alleged assault of a taxi driver outside a Pyrmont entertainment complex this morning.”
The Telegraph claims that, following the alleged altercation, Mehajer “jumped into another taxi”, and was taken in to custody a short time later.
The EFTPOS machine in question and a mobile phone belonging to the driver are being “forensically examined” as part of the police investigation.
Mehajer has reportedly been questioned by police in relation to the incident, but no charges have been laid as yet.
