Queensland Daredevil Bungy Jumps His Way Into Record Books

The world of bungy jumping has its ups and downs, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Jay Phoenix has nerves of steel (not elastic), having yesterday completed 150 jumps in just over 21 hours to smash the existing Guiness World Record of 105 jumps in a single 24 hour period.

Starting his attempt at 6 am on Thursday, Phoenix had to complete an average of one jump every ten minutes at the 40 metre high bungy site at the Kingston Park Raceway in Queensland to make it to his goal of 150 jumps, which he reached at approximately 3:30 am this morning.

Phoenix told ABC Radio that after falling and rising again 150 times he was “in good spirits but especially fatigued… I’ve got sore ankles, a sore neck, sore shoulders and I’m really, really tired.” Fair enough too. A bit of rest though, and we’re sure he’ll bounce back in no time.
