Pauline Hanson Is Actually Filthy That Overseas Gamers Are Crushing Our Own

Australia’s digital infrastructure is objectively crook, and those of us in rural locales have it really bloody bad. Despite hundreds of millions of dollars being poured into the National Broadband Network, many Aussies in regional areas are still subjected to seriously limiting internet speeds.

It’s a legitimate issue, considering how much work – and, increasingly, how much of our lives – necessitates a reliable internet connection. Now, the cause finally has a champion: Senator Pauline Hanson. And she’s seemingly been clued into the issue by disgruntled gamers.

Hanson announced earlier today that she’ll be sitting on the NBN Committee, asserted that she’ll fight for better connections, and encouraged her constituents to share their experiences with laggy-as-hell internet.

That they did, and the results are goddamned incredible:

YUP. Pauline Hanson just took it upon herself to champion the cause, partly due to the fact Aussie gamers are being ROFLstomped by international competitors.
Anyone who has shaken their fist at a screen as their ping goes through the roof will attest it’s a thorough annoyance, but a legitimate senator has now given gamers the be-all and end-all excuse for losing.

Her almost charming innocence regarding the issue was compounded when she unloaded this take on another commenter’s FIFA woes:

So, Pauline Hanson is now targeting the coveted gaming voter base. GG, Australia, no re.
