Usually, when Barack Obama’s name is in a headline along with the word “Muslim”, it means somebody just wrote another insane, conspiratorial hit piece ‘exposing’ the clandestinely Islamic Prez.
Not today! Today, we are pleased to bring you the wonderful news that Obama has nominated the first Muslim in US history – Abid Riaz Qureshi – to serve as federal judge.
In a bold move for a lawyer, Qureshi seems to have based his hair on Robert Kardashian’s.
It’s not for the Supreme Court vacancy – lord knows how the Republican controlled Senate would respond to that – but for the District Court for the District of Colombia. The DC DC, in judge’s slang, we assume.
Y’know, if Superman’s publisher wrote a graphic novel about this story, you could abbreviate it to DC’s DC DC.
Qureshi graduated from Harvard Law in ’97, and is now a partner at a law firm in Washington. His historic appointment is obviously a wonderful, inclusive, progressive step forward for social justice (and the actual justice system).
We don’t foresee any unwarranted controversy on the horizon, because both upcoming Presidential candidates are respectful of the judiciary, right?
