Nom*d A/W 11 “Danse Macabre”

Inspired by the pestilence, war and famine that ravaged Medieval Europe during much of the 14th century, Nom*d’s ominous A/W 11 collection, “Danse Macabre”, offers tough, bleak and warrior-like looks in the darkest of tones. Structured neck accoutrements protect the wearer like armour for example, while knitwear is presented as chain mail and jackets and dresses endure merciless deconstruction. The range will draw inevitable comparisons to Rick Owens what with the shared silhouettes, textures, colour palettes and macabre undertones (price points are where the similarities end) but Nom*d is still the first port of call for reformed goths south of the equator and for us, the perfect example of a brand that has never deviated from its core principles.
