Looking To Work In The Fashion Industry? This Could Be Your Sartorial Step Up

Produced in association with David Jones.

David Jones has launched ‘THE FASHION PROJECT‘ to make your wildest, most reoccurring, fashion related dreams come true.
They are offering up three different ‘money can’t buy’ opportunities within the fashion industry, all of which are open to anyone, regardless of background or experience (at least some talent will be required, however).

First up they are calling for entries from young pashion 4 fashion types in their short film competition, with a brief consisting of: use the word ‘extraordinary’ as inspiration, make the film no longer than one minute, it can be about ‘a person, an outfit , a mood, a collection, an occasion,’ anything really. There are amazing opportunities for finalists but, as for the grand prize, the winning filmmaker will receive a Canon SLR and the chance to work with DJ’s on their Spring Summer 2014 campaign.

To give you an idea Margaret Zhang got it kicked off with her own version, strictly for #inspo purposes; try not to feel intimidated by her production quality, David Jones have made a point of encouraging fashion hopefuls of all levels to apply.

Otherwise, if hands-on front line fashion is more your speed, they’re also offering an internship with the fashion team at David Jones in Sydney. You could experience anything and everything from liaising with designers and suppliers, to viewing and buying collections, tracking inventory in store, planning events, marketing, and managing social media.

If, for now, you’re just looking to get some straight up advice, they’re also running a seminar ‘THE FASHION PROJECT Master Class’ for fifty people. Those lucky enough to secure a seat will get an insiders look at how to get started, expert advice on how to make it in the fashion industry and the opportunity to consult with experts directly on their career and experience.

Once entering you may want to get this prepped, in case of a win, to #sendtoall:
