Learn How To Make It In Fashion From The Industry’s Best

Produced in association with David Jones.

If there are two truths universal to the fashion industry it’s that black and white are always chic and that the industry itself a notoriously difficult one to crack.

Champions of the local industry, David Jones, recognise that this much is not only true, but a formative part of the gospel by which they live.
So, by way of giving back, the department store are hosting an industry Masterclass with some of the country’s best talent, whose faces you’d be well-advised to get all up in if you’re serious about making it work.

To get you where you want to be, DJs are giving away 100 tickets for their Fashion Project Masterclass, which is scheduled to start at 4pm on the heavenly seventh level of the David Jones flagship store on Elizabeth Street in Sydney on March 27th. There, you’ll receive invaluable FaceTime with the impossibly chic heavy-hitters and breadwinners from across the entire spectrum of the Australian fashion industry – from design, buying and styling to blogging and PR – including Carmen Dugan, Head Designer of Keepsake the Label; founder and director of The Audience Agency, Montarna McDonald; stylist Kelvin Harries; Margaret Zhang from Shine By Three as well as Donna Player and Kate Benson, the David Jones Group Executive of Merchandise and Buyer of International and Australian Designer Apparel respectively.

To nab a place, all you need do is head to The Fashion Project and describe – in 50 words or less – what you’d like to learn from these leaders of the fashion industry; leaders not unlike the inimitable Leigh Hawkes, the creative director of The House of Quirky and an international fashion industry stalwart, who’ll also be leading a masterclass of her own and whose wisdom you can begin soaking up below.
