Harvard Launches Menswear

My University never launched its own menswear label but then again Queensland University of Technology doesn’t roll off the tongue or induce jealousy quite like the bastion of good breeding and intelligence that is Harvard. Who have, for reasons of revenue diversification, temporary insanity or perhaps in an attempt to widen the elitist schism between Harvard graduates and common folk, announced the launch of Harvard Yard their own menswear label.

The looks on offer combine preppy, collegiate and Americana touchstones and wouldn’t look astray on Chuck Bass’ sexually ambiguous Canadian cousin. According to WWD: ‘Harvard Yard is a collaboration between Harvard University and private label tailored clothing manufacturer Wearwolf Group, which has licensed the name from the school to produce a contemporary men’s wear collection based on classic Ivy League style. The license, arranged by The Collegiate Licensing Co., not only highlights the growing relevance of classic American style, but also stands as perhaps the first time an American university has lent its name to a fashion-oriented collection of apparel.’
