Christopher Kane Shines For Topshop

To the glee of recessionistas (spew) I mean cash strapped fashion lovers everywhere The Cut has unveiled 31 images from Christopher Kane’s upcoming Topshop collaboration. Credit cards at the ready girls….

In an ongoing collaboration with Britain’s unstoppable High Street retailer, the Central Saint Martins graduate offers a streamlined (in both design and price) incarnation of his eponymous main-line without foregoing his trademark penchant for pastel hues, bejeweled embellishment, sheer panels and refined sex appeal.

The range is certainly wearable but despite the abundance of oggle-worthy wares on display the collection’s most coveted item will undoubtedly be the brooding Crocodile dress. A tongue in cheek reinterpretation of Kane’s Gorilla print dress, an instant classic from his 2009 Spring Ready To Wear collection and animalistic statement piece for the celebrity set. The fight for that dress (which is priced at approximately one twentieth of its main-line counterpart) will be the online equivalent of the underwear bin at a David Jones Boxing Day Sale. To quote Christina Aguilera: “Ring the alarm, and I’m throwin’ elbows”.
