If Happy Mondays’ hype man Bez was reincarnated as a 20-something lady in present day, he’d be all over the Louise Gray for Topshop collection like a raver on a whistle. The Topshop Topman Sydney store is opening October, but if you’re a slave to sequins you’ll want to get to the Melbourne flagship store before the awesome new Louise Gray capsule collection gets snapped up entirely.
There’s a six-piece clothing line with a t-shirt, shift dress, jacket and trousers in simple wearable shapes – all embellished in sequinned stripes, starbursts, polka dots and smiley faces. The whack collision of colours (electric blue, lavender, orange, fuchsia) recall the 80s and 90s record covers from the acid-house and Madchester movements. The same approach to colour features in the accompanying Louise Gray x Topshop make-up collection, on show in the fantastically styled photos below.
The collaboration will be available from the Melbourne Topshop store from September 2012.
