Patty Mills is an Australian NBA point guard best known for his sophisticated command of towelsmurdering the entire Russian men’s basketball team, being among the first Indigenous Australian basketball players ever drafted by an NBA team and being an unflappable, increasingly essential member of the most functional team in basketball. And now he’s getting his own documentary. 

Currently starring in an expanded role as the backup point guard for the NBA finals contending San Antonio Spurs (translation: old dudes who can’t stop winning or signing up players from other countries), the Saint Mary’s College of California graduate of mixed Torres Straight Islander and Indigenous Australian descent shares his story in “For My People”, a Rush helmed sports doco following his “professional and private life from traditional dancing on a tiny island in the Torres Strait to playing against the best basketball players in the world,” the trailer for which you can watch below…
