The NRL Agrees That, Yes, Grabbing Someone’s Testicles Should Be Illegal

Sam Burgess, forward for South Sydney Rabbitohs, has accepted a two-week ban imposed by the NRL’s match review committee, after he was cited for “squirrel-gripping” Melbourne Storm centre Will Chambers’ junk during a match at AAMI Park on Friday night.

Chambers (who was left writhing in pain on the ground after Burgess got to know him better) did not lodge a complaint, but NRL policy dictates that footage of any incident resulting in an injured player is reviewed after the match. Burgess was lumped with a grade one contrary conduct charge, and insightful Youtube comments like “Burgeii confirmed for homo”.

He will miss this weeks’ game against the Manly Sea Eagles, and the following weeks’ clash with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

Reports that Burgess responded to the ban by saying “Aww, nuts” are unconfirmed at this stage.
