Sydney Jockey Suffers Cheeky Wardrobe Malfunction Mid-Race, Unflinchingly Finishes Second

The Australian spirit can be dissected for days – who are we as a nation? Underdogs? Battlers? Racists? Brats? The discourse around such collective nation-wide soul searching has perhaps reached fever pitch over the last week, as ANZAC day centenary celebrations swing into action on every TV channel known to man.

But sometimes, all you need to sum up the Australian way is a simple act. An act that says so much, with so little.

No ifs, one single butt, in a unflinching wardrobe malfunction, not tended to until after jockey Blake Shinn secured his GD deserved runners up place at a Canterbury racecourse event yesterday. “I was more worried about winning the race. They [the pants] went just after the start and there was nothing I could do,” Shinn said.
