Socceroos Climb 37 Places In FIFA Ranking Following Asia Cup Win

Following the Socceroos‘ thrilling Asia Cup win last month, Australia has risen considerably in the FIFA world rankings. Onya, boys!

The lil team that could were previously ranked 102 on the FIFA rankings, however the organisation has now updated the world’s top 200 teams, with Australia currently sitting pretty at number 63. And you know what they say. First the worst, sixty third the best. YAY!

The jump of 37 places by Australia is the second most significant leap by a team on the rankings list – Equatorial Guinea is positively slaying, after jumping a massive 69 places in the rankings to land a place in the top 50 at number 49. Killin it, Equatorial Guinea.

Despite Australia’s narrow win over Korea Republic in the Asia Cup this year, the team is still making headway over Australia: Korea Republic has jumped 15 places to land at number 54 in the rankings.
