Rohan Browning, an Aussie sprinter with a sick mullet, is our new Tokyo Olympics hero.
Last night, Browning made it through to the men’s 100m sprint semi-finals. Taking just 10.01 seconds to finish, the 23-year-old officially became the second-fastest runner in Australian history.
Patrick Johnson, who holds the current front-running title and ran 9.93 seconds in the men’s 100m in 2003, congratulated the young Aussie on his achievement and wished him well for the semi-finals tonight.
“Congrats on your personal best and an incredible first-round run,” he said on Twitter.
“Best [of] luck for the semi-final and hopefully an Olympic final. Keep relaxed it’s your time to make history, [from a] Proud Australian.”

The young gun will next compete at tonight’s men’s 100m semi-finals at 8:23pm AEST, with the men’s 100m finals scheduled for 10:50pm AEST.
If Rohan Browning makes it to the 100m final, he’ll be the first Aussie to do so since Hec Hogan in 1956. Heck, what a fkn legend.
And, of course, people all over TikTok are acting like cats in heat for Browning and his swinging brown mullet. We can’t embed these clips, unfortunately, so, just for you horndogs, here are some of the spiciest pics of Rohan Browning (and his mullet) we could find on Getty Images.
You goddamn beaut.
Speaking after last night’s race, via the ABC, Browning said: “A lot of media pundits… were writing well-meaning stories about how great it would be for me to make a final.”
“I’ve never been here just to make a final. No matter what the bookies say, the pundits or the punters.
“I hope there are a few more believers tonight.”
He also, in sheer King Shit energy, had a message for people who have been protesting against lockdowns around the country: “Don’t go out and anti-vax protest, stay home and get around the underdogs at the Olympics.”

As someone who went to the same high school as Rohan, I gotta say: I bloody love to see it. Onya Ro!
Browning previously represented the country in the 4 x 100m relay race at the 2017 World Championships but didn’t qualify for the final.
