Perhaps a few hours earlier than expected, the Australian Open men’s final is over with World No. 1 Novak Djokovic taking the win over World No. 2 Rafael Nadal.

Nole, in total God mode, took it in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-3.
It’s worth noting Rafa had dominated his way to the men’s final but something, whatever it may be, just wasn’t right for him tonight.
Djokovic has now won seven Australian Open titles – 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2019.
All up, this is his 15th Grand Slam title.
In a start no one really expected, Nadal did not get on the board until the fourth game in the first set. Djokovic had yet to lose a single point on serve.

At 5-3, Djokovic was serving for the set and he got it having only dropped a single point on his serve in the entire set.
Despite Rafa keeping things level early on in the second, Nole pulled ahead a break at three games to two. So far, Nadal had made 18 unforced errors to Djokovic’s four.
Then it happened again, Djokovic was up another break to lead the set five games to two, still having only made four unforced errors in the match so far.
Double break for Novak. 👀

Djokovic was serving for the set now and he got it in a bloody love game, serving up three aces in a row to do it.
Masterclass from Djokovic. He is on another level.

Two sets down, Rafa needed something special to stay in the match. But Djokovic was just far too good tonight, breaking Rafa again to lead 2-1 in the third.
A glimmer of hope sparked at 2-3 Rafa – he had a break point – but he just couldn’t convert it and Djokovic took the game to lead 4-2.
Djokovic was in front 5-3 in the third with Nadal serving when suddenly, Nole had two championship points.
Rafa saved one but he could not save the second and just like that, it was over for the Spaniard.
Novak Djokovic, a bloody beast, is now a seven-time Australian Open champion.
