Nick Kyrgios Skates On Thin Ice, Cops Yet Another Code Violation In Shanghai

Shortly after Nick Kyrgios was hit with a code violation for cracking the shits at the Japan Open, the troubled tennis star has copped his second in the space of a week, this one for swearing on-court during the Shanghai Masters.
Kyrgios sailed through the first round, defeating Austria’s Andreas Haider-Maurer 6-3 6-2, but was less than pleased with the facilities, saying “I hate this place” as he raged about the near-empty Qi Zhong Tennis Centre.
The match was plagued with issues, including inexperienced ball kids and a cameraman on the sidelines who had to be ejected after he refused to STFU, putting the players off their game.
The Aussie youngster also had issues with the court itself, after struggling with his footing behind the baseline and eventually spitting the dummy about the “fucking surface” in the second set.
It was at this point that umpire Carlos Bernades gave him a warning, while opponent Haider-Maurer copped a code violation of his own for hitting a ball out of the stadium in frustration.
When his mate Bernard Tomic showed up during the second set, Kyrgios vented:
“Mate, it’s an absolute circus. Cameraman’s been talking in the middle of a point … Ball-kids … It’s just unbelievable. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Kyrgios was recently dropped from Australia’s Davis Cup semi-final team, and following his infamous Stan Wawrinka sledge, the ATP have threatened him with fines and suspension if he commits any more verbal or physical abuse.
The sanctions against him last until February 24, and if he abuses anybody in that time, or accumulates fines totalling more than $US 5000, the ATP will suspend him for 28 days and fine him a further $US 25,000.
