Hawthorn Beats Fremantle In Gritty 2013 Grand Final

Congratulations to the wee and poo coloured jersey wearers of the Hawthorn Hawks who have taken out the 2013 AFL Grand Final in a gritty victory over the Fremantle Dockers with a performance of 11 goals, 11 points (77) over Freo’s effort of 8 and 14 (62).

Defender Brian Lake was awarded the Norm Smith Medal for best on field, a sweet bonus for a great veteran player who only joined the Hawks’ team this year after slogging away for a lesser team (the Bulldogs) for a number of years.

Well done to the mighty Hawthorn, who performed brilliantly all season and managed to deliver on the big day. Commiserations to the Dockers who gave it a good nudge. Until next year, AFL fans.
