Footage Emerges Of A Wild Brawl Between Rival Cricket Fans

Cricket is absolutely serious business. We know that to be true out here, but it’s a particularly pressing concern on the sub-continent. With the Cricket World Cup now in full swing, that seriousness gets ramped up to 11, with cricket fans from around the world focusing in on Australia and New Zealand for the next two months.

Yesterday, geographical neighbours and fierce rivals India and Pakistan clashed on the field in their pool match. Off the field, fans clashed and left some in a pool of blood.
A wild brawl erupted in a Western Sydney RSL between Indian and Pakistani fans watching the game, reportedly involving up to 40 people at one point. The chaos was captured by Mohak Milan, an onlooker, who – fortunate enough for all of you – posted the video to Facebook.

Police confirmed that they were called to an incident at Merrylands RSL Club at around 9:30pm last night. No arrests were made. Paramedics were also called to the scene, and treated 4 people for non-life threatening injuries.
The game between India and Pakistan was played at the Adelaide Oval in front of a sold out crowd of over 50,000, who snapped up all tickets to game within 20 minutes of them going on sale almost a year ago.
The game was expected to be played in front of the largest television audience in cricket history, with estimates putting the viewership somewhere in the vicinity of 1.3 billion people.
India batted first and posted a formidable total of 300, on the back of star batsman Virat Kohli‘s superb innings of 107. India dismissed Pakistan for 224 inside 47 overs.
