Corin Henry Gets All Derek Rucker On Our Asses

If the NBL is short on ‘personality’ players, they may have just found one in pint-sized point guard Corin Henry. The US import produced a dazzling second half performance scoring all 23 of his points in the final two quarters to lift a shaky Sydney Kings to a thrilling 3 point victory over the Melbourne Tigers last night.

With the lead changing constantly during the match, Henry also produced 4 late game-changing steals to bring the 4386 strong crowd to their feet (ok, 186 tween girls were just there to see X-Factor rejects What About Tonight perform at half time). It was not only Henry’s decisive performance, but the manner in which he fed off the crowd that signalled him as a new favorite.

I love the fact that I have people that doubt me and say I can’t do this or can’t do that, because at the end of the day when I show I can, it feels even better when they jump on the bandwagon.

In other games Wollongong Hawks deafeated the Cairns Taipans 68-58 while the NZ Breakers defeated the Adelaide 36ers 73-59.

Expect the Corin Henry highlight reel to hit youtube soon. Until then…
