Chyna’s Manager Was Apparently Trying To Get Her To Rehab… Via A TV Show

WWE legend and “9th wonder of the world” Chyna, real name Joanie Laurer, was tragically found dead in her home last week at the age of 45.

Although the coroner chose not to release the cause of death, it’s suspected that it was from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, a rumour that has now received substantial weight.

Chyna’s manager Anthony Anzaldo told TMZ that her friends were worried she was over-medicating with Ambien and Valium, and that he’d in fact signed a secret deal with producers of TV show called ‘Intervention’. You can probably guess the format. WWE stars / Chyna’s mates Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mick Foley were apparently slated to take part.

Speaking to TMZ, Anzaldo said that an “interventionist was already lined up, as was a facility that was going to take her for 90 days”, but that sadly she’d died before production could start.
So far, producers haven’t confirmed or denied Anzaldo’s statements.
And look, while we don’t know exactly what was going on, but acknowledging that someone needs help and then going to a TV show to get it seems way, way off.

Meanwhile, WWE posted this touching tribute to Chyna earlier today:
