Think Yr Having A Bad Day? Bella Thorne Just Found Out Her Show Was Axed Via Twitter

Can you imagine being a celebrity and finding out that your TV show has been axed after just two seasons? That’d suck, right?

But ya know what’d suck even more? Finding out via Twitter.

Unfortunately this was Bella Thorne‘s reality as she heard about her show Famous In Love being cancelled via an article on Twitter rather than from the peeps at Freeform.

Okurrrrrrr

The outspoken star has taken to the social media tool to call out her (now former) show’s parent company for neglecting to tell her that she no longer has a job.

“If this is how I find out our show is canceled..I’m going to be so upset. Very hurtful freeform. I woulda liked a phone call maybe.”

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the romantic drama series is being taken off the air, with the last episode having aired in the States a few weeks back without the cast being aware that it was the finale.

Sources told THR that the show’s cancellation was “considered a relief for many members of the production” as there was intense behind-the-scenes drama between Thorne and series showrunner Marlene King (widely known for her work on Pretty Little Liars).

The actress/singer allegedly displayed “diva-like behaviour” on set and refused to take part in Freeform-organised live-tweets during the second season.

The insider adds that the company initially wanted to renew the show for a third season but asked streaming partner Hulu — which has SVOD rights to the drama — for a larger contribution.

Meanwhile, Hulu has yet to receive a formal proposal from Freeform to save Famous in Love, which resulted in a massive dip in the ratings. Season two averaged 254,000 total viewers, down from 330,000 in its freshman run.

The series debuted on Freeform back in 2017. Thorne played Paige Townsen, a student who scored her big break in a Hollywood movie. The series also starred Charle DePew, Carter Jenkins and Niki Koss.

Marlene King and the show’s creator Rebecca Serle have yet to comment on the cancellation.
