One of the world’s most famous felines, Grumpy Cat, has died aged seven. Her humans shared the news on Friday evening.

The smol legend, whose lesser known name is Tarder Sauce, has for years brought joy to millions across the world for her very, very unamused expression. Her famous scowl is said to have been the result of feline dwarfism.
Grumpy Cat died on Tuesday, May 14 after complications arose from a urinary tract infection, her family shared on Twitter.
“Besides being our baby and a cherished member of our family, Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world – even when times were tough.
“Her spirit will continue to live on through her fans everywhere.”

During her time in the spotlight, the gal was named Meme of the Year in 2013. In 2014 she was the star of her own Lifetime festive classic – Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever – and in 2015, Madame Tussauds in San Francisco unveiled a waxwork of her. Not to mention, her book Grumpy Cat claimed the No.7 spot on the New York Times bestselling list in August, 2013.
