Meme Watch: Grumpy Cat Does Talkshow, TIME Magazine, Cures Cancer

The frowniest feline in the Internet’s majestic landscape of cat-oriented shit is Grumpy Cat (real name Tardar Sauce). The 11-year-old mixed breed is currently on the press circuit with her owners, Tabatha and Bryan Bundesen, to promote shitty moods, a general disapproval in all things, her starring role in a web series for Friskies pet food, and the magical world of memes. Let’s check in with Tard, shall we?

TIME MAGAZINE PHOTO SHOOT
Tardar Sauce went to New York to do a shoot with TIME Magazine. Owner Tabatha Bundesen told TIME: “She’s cool with the fame. I think she was actually excited to come to N.Y. this time. I was packing my bags and she came to my room. Normally doesn’t hang out in my room, but she was sniffing at my bag and looking at me like, ‘You’re taking me right?’”

Here is one of the photos, shot for TIME by Elizabeth Renstrom:

CURING CANCER
Could Grumpy Cat have healing powers? It’s possible. Tabatha Bundesen told TIME: “There’s a lady we met in Texas who said she made Grumpy Cat a part of her cancer treatment. Every morning before she went to her chemotherapy, she would flip through pictures of Grumpy Cat, and it would help her get through it. And she’s in remission now.”

TALK SHOW APPEARANCE ON ANDERSON COOPER
Grumpy Cat and her owners appeared on Anderson Live to discuss fame and Friskies. Tadar had zero fucks to give about being there.

SXSW GUEST STAR
Social Media/Tech website Mashable invited Grumpy Cat to South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, as a special guest where she was showered with love, cuddled by celebrities and received priceless media attention. Remained grumpy.
