A brigade of hackers known as Lizard Squad have claimed responsibility for a global Xbox Live and Playstation Network outage which is forcing thousands of games to actually experience sunlight on Boxing Day
The group, who actually warned everyone that they were going to do this a week ago (come on, people) seem to have no political motivations beyond becoming Twitter famous. Like schoolyard bullies looking for attention, they actually want favourites and retweets and not much else.
What should we let back online?

The team appears to be using a denial of service attack, which floods the servers until they go down. So if you were planning on playing a shoot ’em up with your mate over in Wisconsin today or backing up your files to the Xbox server, think again.
You’ve got to feel for Sony during all of this. They probably can’t wait for this year to be over.
See you in the great outdoors, gamers.
