I know Thanksgiving over in the States is a really big thing about family and eating lots of food, but it’s also the best time of year because the National Dog Show is broadcast just after the Macy’s Day Parade. It’s the best puppy event on the calendar year in America, closely following my favourite-ever event, the Puppy Bowl.
The big award every year is the Best In Show, given to….well, the best dog there. The competition was fierce this year; I’m talking perfectly-manicured Portuguese water dogs, American Staffordshire terriers, French bulldogs, and a very fluffy English sheep-dog.
Who reigned supreme? This god damn Chewbacca-lookin’ dude; a Brussels Griffon named Newton.

I love Griffons so much. Their little squished faces are all furious and confused and look like some kind of grumpy dude who you’ve woken up from a groggy nap. Look at him! He’s got no freakin’ idea what’s going on, he just wants more treats pls.
Newtown’s ~real~ name is GCH Somerset Wynzall Hashtag which is just…it’s too much. That’s Mr. Hashtag, to you plebs.
Mr. Hashtag here apparently has 21 other ‘Best In Show’ awards but this is his very first one from the National Dog Show, and it’s the first time a Brussels Griffon has won the show since it was created in 2002.
I am thankful for Mr. Newton GCH Somerset Wynzall Hashtag. So, so thankful.
