Weekly Roundup: Some Damn Good News To Warm Your Icy Hearts

It’s Friday and we all deserve to kick back and don a smile. Things may be a tad shit in the world right now but there are still a hundred good things to smile about and keep us swimmin’.

Here’s five especially sweet ones that’ll make you feel plenty of warm and fuzzy things.

Ryan Reynolds invited kids from the Make-A-Wish programme to the Deadpool 2 set.

The picture and caption says it all.

And no, the kids are not holding real swords. As Ryan put it they’re, “Bamboo Versions. Not stabby-stabby versions”.

A beautiful stranger paid for woman’s brand new tyres.

Tegan Langley was parked at a Maccas in Pimpama when a perfect stranger approached her. Noticing her very out-of-shape tyres, the man pointed them out to Tegan only to find out she couldn’t afford new ones. The man, who Tegan learned was named Tony, asked her to follow him to the Bridgestone across the street.

“This complete stranger, Tony explained he couldn’t live with himself if he walked away from the situation knowing they were about to blow at anytime.”

Wait for it.

“Tony didn’t expect anything in return but asked me that one day when I’m in the position where I’m able to help someone I pay it forward. $535 dollars, a lot of tears on my behalf, a few hugs, three brand new tyres, a wheel alignment later and the offer to fuel up my car he left.”

And faith in humanity restored.

Tony gave no surname or personal details. He was just, “Tony the gentle giant with his two beautiful sons teaching them a life lesson”.

A sixth-grader in the US gave her ice-cream money to her teacher for his father-in-law’s funeral.

Okay, seriously break out the tissues ‘cos this one is a punch in the heart.

Price Lawrence was teaching his class of sixth-graders in Alabama when his students noticed something different about him. Price explained his father-in-law had passed away and he was worried about his wife. After class when all the kids were piling out, a little one put something in his hands.

Then she said, “This is for your wife. I know it was real expensive when my daddy died and I don’t really want ice cream today anyways.”

As Mr Price says, we could learn a lot from children.

Mark Hamill finally gets his own Hollywood Star (he also dragged Trump)

Now for something lighter, one of our fave Jedi Knights is finally getting his Hollywood Star but the real question is, he didn’t have one already?

Playing the iconic Luke Skywalker and the voice behind the Joker, Mark’s star will be the 2,630th one on the walkway when it comes to life March 8. But it doesn’t end there because George Lucas and Harrison Ford will be doing all the talkin’.

Be still our beating hearts.

Ofc, Mark’s being very humble about it all but that didn’t stop him from throwing some shade towards his president.

Check out the Tweet below and have a lil’ giggle.

Well, we don’t know for sure it’s about Trump but look, it probably is.

Doggo found tied to a tree finds a new forever home.

Zeus the dog was spotted presumably abandoned and tied to a tree in Prince George County, Virginia. Zeus also had a note with him that read:

“Hi my name is Zues [sic]. I am a very good dog. My owner just cannot afford me anymore. She tried to find me a home but nobody would take me.”

Zeus was brought to the Prince George County Animal Shelter and looked after. News spread fast on their Facebook page and before long Zeus found his forever family.

Now go and give your loved ones a cuddle and have a happy Friday.
