WARNING: Graphic content.
Graphic footage has emerged of a Minnesota driver lying motionless and bleeding in the front seat of his car, while a police office points a gun at him through the car window.
According to footage his female passenger took, the officer shot the driver four times when he reached for his license and registration. In the clip – which was uploaded straight to Facebook live, but has since been deleted – you can hear the man moaning, and see his white shirt covered in blood.
His passenger Lavish Reynolds, began filming the incident in the moments after the shooting.
“We got pulled over for a busted tail light in the back, and the police, he just killed my boyfriend,” says Reynolds in the clip, speaking to the camera.
“He [Castile] is licensed to carry, he was trying to get his ID and his wallet out of his pocket and he let the officer know that he had a firearm but he was reaching for his wallet, and the officer just shot him in his arm.”
Outside, you can hear the distressed officer scream “FUCK!” and later “I told him not to reach for it, I told him to get his hand off it.”
Reynolds replies: “You told him to get his ID sir, you told him to get his driver’s license.”
She later says:“Please, officer, don’t tell me he’s gone. Please don’t tell me that you did this to him. You shot four bullets into him, sir.”
You can watch Reynolds’ footage below, but pleased be warned that it is graphic and could be distressing.
