WATCH: Remarkably Calm Family Capture Obscenely Large Dust Devil In QLD

A Queensland family yesterday captured footage of a dust devil they declared the “Bundy Tornado” crossing the road on the way to Bargara, near Bundaberg.
The vidya posted by Daniel and Tamara Baldry on Facebook has been viewed 55,000 times, and shared almost 700 times.

A dust devil – otherwise known as a willy-willy or whirly-whirly – is a small whirlwind that looks like a swirling column of dust and debris. It forms when a piece of ground is hotter than the area surrounding it, heating the air above, which rises, thus creating a column of warm, rising air. The air picks up debris, dust and sand, making it visible.
A blue car actually just drives straight on past this one, as though it’s not even there, dancing like Kate Bush in a paddock.
One of Daldry’s kids is bewildered: “That’s so weird, I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Later Daniel Daldry said that they could actually feel the wind when they stepped out of the car.

It wasn’t loud or anything, you wouldn’t know it was there if you didn’t see it, and it dissipated seconds after going across the road.”
