WATCH: Organiser Of Sydney Street Party Protesting Lockout Laws Speaks Out

Sydney, you’ve officially been put on blast for your outrageous lockout laws.
Tomorrow, on Sunday September 13, you’re all invited to a massive party-slash-protest to reclaim the streets. The mobile festival will kick off tomorrow at Hyde Park Fountain at 1pm, and then roll on into the evening from there.
More than 4700 people have RSVP’d to the ‘Reclaim The Streets‘ Facebook event, indicating that they’re sick of being treated like children by laws that ban alcohol purchases after 10pm and enforce a 1.30am lockout at city venues.
The event’s organisers say:
The decay of our nightlife is a visible symptom of a much bigger problem: the influence of money upon policy.

As property developers, casino owners, miners, and bankers fight over their own agendas, the interests of the average person take a backseat.

Reclaim The Streets is a protest and a street party, but most importantly it’s a celebration of what our public life could be.

We believe the city should be affordable, open and supportive of everyone who works, lives or plays here.
The event promises to be family-friendly with a line-up of DJs already confirmed to perform across the multi-stage set up.
