We know you’ve seen the Chewbacca Mum by now. We know this because the video of her unboxing and revelling in the PURE JOY of a Star Wars voice-changing Chewbacca mask has been viewed some 139 MILLION times on Facebook. Girl is doin’ numbers.
The magnificent bundle of posi energy and glee known as Candace Payne to her friends took the reasonably new concept of the Facebook Live video and blew it completely apart with her little shopping adventure, which has since swept the globe multiple times and caused those very masks to not only sell completely out, but demand prices as much as 5 times above retail on web auction sites.
And with instantaneous public heat like that, what do you do next? You answer the call of the US TV networks and you get flown out to do the late night talk show circuit and meet your dang heroes, that’s what you do.
Payne made an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, who were quicker than a hiccup to swoop on the America’s Next Top Viral Star.
As is custom, Corden enlisted Payne for the apparently consistently grim task of getting to work, but instead of actually driving they just played around with those dope-as-hell Chewie masks for a bit.
Also JJ Abrams appeared out of nowhere.
It’s bloody WONDERFUL.
