Noted arsehole and 5-time MMA fight loser, Jonathan Koppenhaver aka “War Machine” is facing an extremely lengthy stint behind bars if found guilty on charges of attempted murder, stemming from a much talked-about incident in which he allegedly severely assaulted his former girlfriend, adult performer Christy Mack, leaving Mack with horrific, extensive, and graphic injuries.
The case came to light in public following Mack’s posting of an extraordinarily detailed account of the assault and her subsequent injuries which included numerous broken bones and a ruptured liver – the story and accompanying photos making for brutal and difficult viewing.
Following a week-long manhunt for War Machine – during which time Dog the Bounty Hunter got involved because it’s his God-given right as an American to do so or someshit like that – he was captured and arrested by police in California and subsequently extradited back to Nevada to face charges.
Prosecutors added 25 extra charges to the rap sheet of Koppenhaver, including multiple charges of battery, strangulation, kidnapping, coercion, burglary and sexual assault, in addition to the count of attempted murder.
War Machine – it’s his legal (and fucking ridiculous) name – pleaded not guilty to the charges, which carry a maximum sentence of life imprisonment should he be found guilty.
Christy Mack has been undergoing numerous surgeries to correct the damage done to her body. Though progress is phenomenally slow, she does appear to be healing well following the attack in early August, if her posts of Twitter are anything to go by. Which we sincerely hope they are.
