U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has given Russian President Vladmir Putin a big ol’ internet high five, following the Russian leader’s decision to hold off on tossing 35 American diplomats out of his country.

That statement doesn’t seem too ridiculous, until you realise that U.S. President Barack Obama just ejected 35 Russian diplomats from the United States, and launched sanctions against the nation for its alleged involvement in hacking that may have influenced the election in Trump’s favour.
In response to Obama’s actions, Putin initially planned to boot an equal number of American figures from Russia, ’cause equal retaliation is what those two countries do best.
However, he had a change of heart, saying he wants to “plan further steps for restoring the Russian-American relationship based on the policies enacted by the administration of President Donald Trump.”
Now, we’re seeing the man who will become the leader of the United States – a man who openly called on Russia to hack the Democratic National Convention for dirt on Hillary Clinton during the election, and then said the American people should “move on” from the hacking allegations once he won – openly praise the leader of the nation that allegedly perpetrated those hacks.
Wild fucking times, my friends.
