Tiger Is Doing $9 Flights & They’re Selling Faster Than MDMA At A Rave

Strap in for that belated family holiday gang, because you’ve now got little-to-no excuse not to fly home this February and March.
In what’s got to be some kind of record and/or complete rort, Tigerair have announced that, from midday (AEDT) today until midday November 19th they’re offering $9 selected fares.
Yes, you can now get flights for less than an avocado smash, and we all owe Bernard Salt an apology.
The exact $9 flight period runs from February 1st to March 22nd, and every flight announced today has, unfortunately, already sold out: Melbourne-Sydney, Melbourne-Adelaide and Brisbane-Cairns. Other sold-out specials included Melbourne-Canberra ($19) and Melbourne-Coffs Harbour ($29), but you might be able to grab a $29 Brisbane-Sydney flight if you’re quick.
And luckily, Tiger are set announce more $9 tickets at midday tomorrow, including their new Brisbane-Whitsundays route, Melbourne-Hobart and Sydney-Gold Coast. Likewise, Friday’s routes are set to include: Melbourne-Canberra and Sydney-Coffs Harbour and Brisbane-Sydney.
The deals come as Tigerair celebrate their ninth anniversary in Australia, which, as part of their “cheapskate with plenty of time to piss away on delayed flights” demographic, I can safely say makes for the best nine years of flying in my life.
Naturally, Tigerair spokeswoman Vanessa Regan stressed getting in early before all the good tickets are gone:
“The secret as always is to get in quick as the best value fares are expected to be snapped up quick…Ten dollars really doesn’t buy you much these days and once again we’re proving that Tigerair is Australia’s consumer champion with fares on sale across our network for less than the cost of a fast food meal deal or cut price cinema ticket.”
Ironically, if I’m going to have any chance at getting any of these, I’d have to chuck a sickie either tomorrow or Friday. But while I might lose money in the long-run, at least I’ll have beaten Charles from sales to these sweet, sweet deals.
See you in Noosa Charles, ya dickhead.
