This Campaign To Get A Raw Onion More Followers Than Trump Is Truly Inspired

Donald Trump may fuck with the environment; he might try to kybosh freedom of the press; he’ll likely continue to tell women what they can and can’t do with their reproductive organs. But he’ll never take away our collective ability to follow the adventures of half an onion in a ziploc bag on Twitter.

Yep, the Twitter-using public is being encouraged to piss off the new POTUS by following @HalfOnionInABag, an account that’s literally half an uncooked onion in a plastic bag. No more, no less.

Its numbers are rising quickly: at present, the People’s Onion has just over 300K followers, which is about 1.2% towards its goal of toppling Trump’s 22m.

We know what you’re thinking: following an onion on Twitter isn’t the most effective means of resistance. But it *is* the type of thing that would absolutely rattle Trump’s cage, as the onion itself rightly reminded us.
